ms. Victoria Valencia

Ms. Victoria Valencia is a San Francisco native, raised in the Excelsior district. She attended Catholic schools for grades K-12, then went to San Diego State for her BA in English. She has always had a keen interest in an active lifestyle and athletics. She has played multiple sports since elementary school, through high school, intramural play in college, and presently in adult recreation leagues in the city. While completing her university degree, she began volunteering as a high school basketball coach during her vacation breaks and summers (which later led to a more permanent position).

After college, she lived in Italy for three months as an English Linguistic Assistant in an elementary school, which bolstered her passion to teach and work with youth. Despite an eclectic career path after returning to San Francisco, she is energized at the prospect of applying her extensive background in after-school programs, extracurricular enrichment, and summer programming to the role of PE Instructor at St. Peter’s.

Victoria believes that motivating and directing others in a supportive, cooperative, and collaborative way leads to an engaging and FUN learning environment. She believes that many values are taught and learned, both on and off the field of play.
