We are delighted that you are interested in St. Peter’s Catholic School as a home for your child.

Our application process has five steps:

Step 1: Visit St. Peter’s

The best way to determine if our school is a fit for you is to come visit. We’re happy to take you on a tour to meet students and talk to teachers and staff.

Step 2: Apply for admission

In addition to the application (link below), here’s what else we need to make a decision about enrollment:

  • Child's Birth Certificate
  • Child's Baptismal Certificate and other sacraments received (if available)
  • Child's complete immunization records
  • Child's most recent report card if applying for grades 1-7
  • A non-refundable application fee of $25

Step 3: Arrange a “shadow day” for your child or a Morning in Kindergarten visit

Children entering Kindergarten are invited to spend an hour with the class while parents take a tour of the school and talk with the Principal and current parents. Children in grades 1-7 spend a day by themselves at St. Peter’s to meet teachers and students.

Step 4: Schedule an entrance test for your child

All incoming children are briefly tested to determine their readiness to enter a given grade.

Step 5: Pay the registration fee and apply for financial aid

Our mission is to admit students without regard to family financial circumstances, and you’re encouraged to apply for Basic Fund Scholarships, Archdiocesan Family Grants and our own financial aid program (to learn more, see below). You can also attend one of our Financial Aid Workshops or discuss your options with someone in our office. In order to begin the financial aid application process, we ask that you pay the registration fee in full (or a non-refundable registration fee deposit of $100).  


Paying for a St. Peter’s Catholic School Education

A Catholic education at St. Peter’s is an investment in a bright future for your child, and it is our goal to make this education available to all children who seek it, regardless of their family’s income.
 

Here is a breakdown of the cost to attend St. Peter’s for 2017-2018.

 

TUITION:                                 

1 child    $4,150 per year or $415 per month

2 children     $6,250 per year or $625 per month

3 children    $6,950 per year or $695 per month

4 children    $7,650 per year or $765 per month

 

Registration fee (per family)      

$430     (with 20 parent volunteer hours)

$460     (with no volunteer hours)

 

 

Financial Aid for Your Child

We are committed to doing everything we can to make St. Peter’s an option for your child, and we will work closely with you to find any and all financial aid sources we can. Here are the three most common sources for current St. Peter’s students.

 

BASIC Fund Scholarships

The BASIC Fund provides scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis to families in financial need. The awards are based on household size and income and cover up to $1,600 of the tuition per year. Approximately 70% of our students receive BASIC fund scholarships.

 

Archdiocesan Elementary Family Grant

The San Francisco Archdiocese offers over $1,000,000 in scholarships each year to over 1,400 students. Grants are awarded on a need basis. Approximately 25% of our students receive these grants.

 

St. Peter’s Support a Student Program

We offer additional financial aid to families who demonstrate serious financial need. Families may apply for additional aid by submitting a request with the Tuition Accounts Office.
